Henry Taylor Wood

May 1, 2002 - June 2, 2022

Henry Taylor Wood was born May 1st, 2002 in Denver, Colorado, but knew the Carolinas as his home for the majority of his life. This is the place where Henry’s mind blossomed, starting at Hawk Ridge Elementary, all the way through NC State University. Henry spent his time on Earth pursuing various passions and interests, truly giving his best effort at anything he put his mind towards. From a very young age, Henry was drawn to the stage - performing in musicals at the Children’s Theater of Charlotte, as well as for his school. Henry was always a performer at heart - deriving so much of his joy from the happiness and laughter of those around him.

As Henry continued to mature, so did his interests. Many could watch as Henry underwent a transformation that was truly something to be inspired by. The dedication he displayed, not only to the betterment of his body, but also to the growth of those around him, was one of Henry’s greatest feats. He was known around his local gym as someone you could always count on for a spot; those closer to him on his personal health journey knew him as someone who was deeply passionate about growing as an individual.

Possibly Henry’s greatest passion was music. Whether it was singing until his throat hurt or dancing until he had to sit down, there was something about music that attracted Henry. Never tied to one genre, Henry would give any kind of music a chance. One of his favorite artists was Kendrick Lamar, but he was also an avid fan of classic country and contemporary rock. Henry’s love for music was something that materialized in college, as he began to pursue music theory courses and teach himself to play several instruments. Henry was known as loud and expressive, and music was the most fitting and beautiful extension of his personality that he found in his life.

Henry Taylor Wood is survived by his mother Sarah and his father Douglas. In addition his older sister Maddie, and his two brothers Sam and Mack carry on Henry’s youthful legacy.
